Lift Mechanic

We are currently accepting applications for the position of Lift Mechanic to work with in our Maintenance team on our surface and aerial lifts. This is a full-time seasonal position based at Mt Hutt ski area in Canterbury.

Applicants will ideally need to have experience on Leitner and Doppelmayr chair lifts and travelling carpets.

About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Head of Department, you will work with the Maintenance team to ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests. The role will include servicing our 3 chairlifts and 2 conveyor lifts. You will also work with the Maintenance team to ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests by maintaining and repairing other equipment and machinery or carrying out other general maintenance tasks as required.

The success of the role will rely on your ability to work in a team of highly motivated individuals who are dedicated to meeting our guests' expectations of the Mt Hutt experience.

Ability to get the job done and work under pressure
Flexible with work hours during winter operations

Skills and Qualifications

Experience with Leitner or Doppelmayr chairlifts is a distinct advantage
A mechanical background such as fitter & turner or mechanic
Full drivers licence.  A Class 2 licence would be an advantage
Comfortable/experienced working at heights and an alpine environment
