Queenstown Retail - Retail Assistant - Casual & Full Time

We all have one thing in common around here; a passion for snowsports, our mountains and creating memorable experiences for our guests. Our purpose is simple. Love it, live it, share it!

The key to success in this role is the ability to engage with our guests in a fun manner while you seek to match their needs with the goods we have on offer. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about the ski industry and is willing to learn about all the gear and merch we offer in the shops.

Our SnoShops sell some cool stuff - from our branded range to the latest goggles, sunglasses and accessories it's a great place to work! Supplier representatives will train you in their range - however, a passion for sales and the ability to retain large amounts of information will help see you right in this role.

About the role

Meeting and greeting all guests and visitors to the SnoShop
Sharing your passion and knowledge of the products for sale with our guests
Seeking opportunities to maximise sales
Monthly stocktakes
Operation of the Point of Sale (POS) till system and balance takings at the end of each day
Managing the layout and displays of the SnoShop

About You

A real people person - we want you to be the 'personality' of the SnoShop guests don't just come in for the products they want to talk to YOU!
Previous experience in a snow retail environment along with proven cash handling skills
Good mathematical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
Previous experience using Point of Sale (POS) systems
Willingness and flexibility to assist other departments as and when required
An understanding that employment is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the hours of work cannot be guaranteed
