Lift Mechanic

We currently have a vacancy for the position of Lift Mechanic to work with in our Maintenance team on our surface and aerial lifts. This is a full-time permanent position based at The Remarkables ski area in Queenstown.

Experience on Poma and Doppelmayr chair lifts and travelling carpets will be advantageous. 

About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Head of Department, you will work with the Maintenance team to ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests. The role will include servicing 2 detachable chairlifts (including one brand new Doppelmayr D-Line chairlift), 2 fixed-grip chairlifts and 3 conveyor lifts. You will also work with the Maintenance team to ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests by maintaining and repairing other equipment and machinery as required.

The success of the role will rely on your ability to work in a team of highly motivated individuals who are dedicated to meeting our guests' expectations of The Remarkables experience.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with Poma or Doppelmayr chair lifts is a distinct advantage

  • A mechanical background such as fitter & turner or mechanic

  • Full drivers license.  A Class 2 license would be an advantage.
  • Comfortable/experienced working at heights and an alpine environment
