The Housekeeping Supervisor works closely with the Housekeeping Manager and Assistant Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department. In this role you will support the team and ensure consistent standard of cleanliness across our 4.5-star hotel accommodation, Mt Cook Lodge, motels, and chalets, is maintained. 

What your day will look like

  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager/Assistant Manager in daily allocation of room attendants and public area attendants, taking a hands-on role in assisting with the daily workload including cleaning rooms if necessary.
  • Conducting thorough and detailed inspections of all vacant clean guest accommodation rooms prior to the arrival of incoming guests, ensuring all product specifications and standards have been met and providing feedback to room attendants 
  • Ensure effective communication with Front Office in relation to room changes, arrivals & departures.
  • Support and deliver hands on training of all housekeeping staff, through the use of Training Programs, Operational Checklists, and Procedures 
  • Follow the hotel's cleaning procedures and use the correct cleaning materials when servicing and cleaning guest rooms 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of both Health & Safety and emergency procedures and assist if required in a hotel evacuation 
  • Resolving guest complaints to the guest's satisfaction within your level of authority

About you

Our teams live and work together so it's important that you have a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the hospitality industry. Experience in all aspects of housekeeping operations is required, previous supervisory experience is preferred. Driving licence is preferred.

We provide training to ensure you are kept up to speed with our products, our services, our standards, and our expectations. You should be flexible with a can-do approach and looking to learn throughout your time with us.
